Limited Lifetime Warranty
We extend the manufacturer's limited lifetime warranty on every product we install — for as long as you own your home. Here's exactly what's covered, in plain English.
Materials & Workmanship
Limited lifetime — original purchaser
All shutters, shades, and blinds we install are covered against defects in materials and workmanship for the lifetime of the original purchaser, under normal residential use. If a louver warps, a finish peels, or a panel fails due to a manufacturing defect, we replace it.
Motorization
5 years
Motors, motor controls, remotes, hubs, and battery packs on motorized shutters and shades are covered for 5 years from the date of installation against defects in materials and workmanship.
Cords & Internal Mechanisms
7 years
Lift cords, lift mechanisms, tilt rods, and other internal moving parts are covered for 7 years from the date of installation. If something stops working the way it should during normal use, we make it right.
Our Installation
1 year, plus we stand behind it
Our installation workmanship is warranted for one year from install date. Beyond that, if a product we installed isn't sitting right, we'll come out and adjust it — we don't disappear after the truck pulls away.
What's Not Covered
This warranty is "limited" because some things are outside our or the manufacturer's control. The following are typically excluded:
- Normal wear and tear, fading from prolonged direct sun, or exposure to moisture beyond what the product is rated for
- Damage caused by accidents, misuse, pets, children, improper cleaning, or modifications made after installation
- Commercial or non-residential use
- Damage from natural disasters, fire, smoke, flood, or acts of God
- Color variation in natural wood products (a feature, not a defect)
- Products purchased used, second-hand, or transferred from a previous homeowner
Who's Covered
This warranty extends to the original purchaser for as long as they own the property where the products were installed. It is not transferable to subsequent homeowners. If you sell your home and want the warranty to follow, contact us before closing — we'll do our best to honor it for the new owner under reasonable circumstances.
How to File a Warranty Claim
We make this easy. Don't dig through paperwork — just text or call us:
- Text (805) 870-8330 or email hello@805shuttersandshades.com with photos of the issue and your install address.
- We'll respond within one business day to assess and schedule a service visit if needed.
- If the issue is covered, we coordinate the repair or replacement directly with the manufacturer at no cost to you.
- If it's outside the warranty (for example, accidental damage), we'll still help — we'll quote a fair repair cost using the same products and installers.
The Fine Print (the parts our lawyer wanted in)
This page is a plain-English summary. The full terms and conditions of each product's manufacturer warranty govern any claim. Coverage periods, exclusions, and remedies vary by product line and are subject to the manufacturer's then-current warranty terms at the time of purchase. 805 Shutters & Shades extends these warranties to the homeowner and acts as the point of contact for claims; warranty fulfillment (repair or replacement of defective product) is provided by the manufacturer. Some states do not allow limitations on implied warranties or exclusion of incidental or consequential damages, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may have other rights that vary by state. Nothing in this warranty affects your rights under California law, including the Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act.
